GUTTER CLEANING

At CT Wash Pros, we offer two types of gutter cleaning. During our work on your home, we ensure that your gutters are clean, empty, and functioning properly. This is important for a few reasons. It only takes a handful or two of debris or leaves to get lodged in a leader, and the downspout can become clogged and not drain as intended. Some roofs are dirty, and some are even loaded with gloeocapsa magma (a black algae that grows in the shingles). It can often be very hard to see from the ground. Most customers will not even notice it, but if it's there and the gutters are clogged, this will make the siding organic growth happen very fast due to "gutter hop" (when black nasty water fills the gutters and hops over and runs down your siding during rainfalls.) So we make sure everything is clean INSIDE as well as out. A basic gutter cleaning is provided for free on every full house wash because we want it to last as long as possible for you.

GUTTER WASHING

We power wash the interior of the gutters to remove the dirt, mold, mildew, and tannin from leaves as well as all the debris that gets stuck all over the drip edges that lead into the gutter. We even wash the side of the gutter that faces the road, away from the house. There is a curved lip in there that we see always filled with lots of debris. Most wouldn't even think about this, but we do, as we want your home not only to look clean but to be spotlessly clean. And this helps the job last as long as possible going forward.

GUTTER BRIGHTENING

Our second type of cleaning, if you choose it, is gutter brightening. This takes a specialty chemical we import. This can be sprayed and brushed on and agitated with a car washing mitt microfiber towel. We allow it about 5-7 minutes of dwell time and then thoroughly rinse the product off. Often this will brighten the gutters up tremendously and make them look almost like new. Getting rid of "tiger striping," which is the light black vertical streaks seen on some gutters. Not all gutters have this, but some do. It's just due to oxidization on the aluminum-painted surfaces. ANNUAL MAINTENANCE

Lastly, we can do your annual maintenance on gutters during the fall leaf season. We dedicate our entire month of November to gutter cleanouts. This will allow your gutters to stay clear during the following seasons and prevent roof damage.
